Directions from the North of England

  • Turn off the M6 at Junction 38 just after the Tebay Services, follow the A685.
  • Follow the signs into Kendal.
  • As you enter the Kendal area you will pass Queen Katherine School on your right.
  • After about 300 yards turn left at "JA Gardner" car sales into Fowl Ing Lane.
  • The driveway up to The Garden House Hotel & Restaurant is at the end of the road.
Directions from the M6 Northbound.

  • Leave motorway at J36.
  • Follow A590 and A591 towards Kendal.
  • DO NOT take Kendal South turning.
  • Continue on the Kendal by-pass dual carriageway to the large roundabout.
  • Take THIRD EXIT signed Kendal.
  • Through first traffic lights and turn LEFT AT SECOND TRAFFIC LIGHTS onto Sandes Avenue.
  • Stay in the LEFT HAND LANE . Straight on at lights. Follow the signs for the A685 Brough.
  • Follow road round left hand curve at mini roundabout.
  • Under the railway bridge, then FORK RIGHT in front of THE DUKE OF CUMBERLAND pub, on to APPLEBY ROAD.
  • Take SECOND RIGHT by "JA Gardner" car sales into FOWL-ING LANE.
  • At the end of the road is the Garden House Hotel & Restaurant.
